UAlberta International - 29 May 2020

The online event was attended by 123 researchers from UAlberta and from many other Canadian and foreign universities. The AvH Foundation emphatically campaigns for equal opportunities for women and men in research and one of the purposes of this event was specifically to encourage applications and nominations from highly-qualified women researchers. The Foundation strives to construct sponsorship programs that are attractive to women academics and break down the mobility barriers for women researchers and those with young families. The webinar included presentation from 3 prominent female Humboldt fellows about the AvH programs and their own experience with the AvH foundation -- Dr. Chung-Wai Chow, University of Toronto, President of the Humboldt Association Canada, Dr. Meghan Riddell, University of Alberta, Humboldt Fellow, and Dr. Xiaoting Li, University of Alberta, Humboldt Fellow. The moderator of the event was Dr. Dietmar Kennepohl, Humboldt fellow and Director of HFLOC.
